LiPLANET Workshop ‒ From Projects to Practice: Advancing Battery Sustainability through Expert Exchange
LiPLANET Wokshop in Vienna 2025

Event date: September 30, 2025

Vienna, Austria

About the Workshop

European battery projects and clusters generate valuable knowledge, but much of this expertise remains siloed, non-standardized, or fades once projects conclude. LiPLANET and the NoVOC consortium invite you to a targeted workshop that brings together project leaders, pilot-line operators, and cluster experts to:

  • Discuss current challenges in knowledge transfer between projects and clusters with exemplary cases in the areas of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and digitalisation
  • Explore LiPLANET’s role in sustainable, cross-project knowledge transfer (during and beyond project lifetimes)
  • Co-design a pragmatic Expert-Group framework that endures beyond individual project lifetimes

Why Join This Workshop?

By participating, you will:

  • Influence LiPLANET’s clustering strategy and Expert-Group setup
  • Share real-world challenges and lessons learned from LCA and digitalisation working groups
  • Shape a durable knowledge-transfer mechanism across EU battery projects
  • Network with battery R&D peers, pilot-line operators, and policy stakeholders
  • Help define practical expectations and support structures LiPLANET can offer

Agenda Overview (14:00–16:30)

  • Welcome and housekeeping; overview of objectives and agenda
  • Introducing LiPLANET — Seal of Approval, decentralised pilot lines, and key advantages (networking, dissemination, training, risk management)
  • Panel Discussion — Battery Heroes Cluster overview; Sustainability (LCA) & Digitalisation Working Group challenges
  • Interactive Feedback Session — Pathways for sustainable knowledge transfer and data accessibility
  • LiPLANET as a Clustering Hub — Expert-Group concept, governance, and beyond-project continuity
  • Expectations, next steps, and closing

Who Should Attend?

  • LiPLANET Executive Board Members
  • Battery project & cluster leaders
  • Pilot-line operators and R&D managers
  • LCA and digitalisation experts
  • Policy makers and funding agency representatives

Your expertise is essential to defining a practical solution for sustainable, cross-project knowledge transfer in EU initiatives.
